New Century Cafe sits on Carlton Gore Road in Newmarket, and it’s the kind of spot that fits neatly into the rhythm of the daily grind, especially for office workers and locals looking for a solid lunch option. The vibe is straightforward and practical rather than flashy — think efficient service and consistent quality that keeps people coming back between meetings or work shifts.

The cafe is known locally for having a reliable range of fresh, well-portioned foods that cater to a variety of tastes, which makes it a practical stop for a lunchtime break. The menu leans into simple, generous fillings with options like hearty pies and wraps that feel made to fuel a workday. The avocado wrap is frequently mentioned as a favorite, and the bakery selection, particularly the muffins, is also a popular pick-me-up alongside a seriously decent coffee.

The atmosphere is unpretentious and functional. You'll find a steady stream of people who know the place well — from office workers in nearby buildings to those working on local construction sites — appreciating the no-fuss experience. Staff are noted for being fast and friendly, often remembering regular orders, which adds a small but meaningful human touch in what can otherwise be a busy lunch hour.

While prices sit a bit higher compared to other suburbs, this reflects the Newmarket location and the quality on offer. Portions tend to be generous, which makes for good value overall. The best times to visit align with standard lunch hours when the kitchen is well-stocked, but the cafe also holds its own late in the afternoon when some places might run low on selection.

For those seeking a convenient meal that balances quality and speed without the fuss of a full-service restaurant or specialty coffee bar, New Century Cafe slots into that niche well. It’s a dependable spot for a simple, satisfying lunch amid the Newmarket bustle.

My favourite place to get lunch when working in the area. Great selection of fresh foods and amazing muffins & coffee. The avocado wraps are my personal favourite. It’s a family run business and I highly recommend.

Great lunch bar. Prices a little upperbound due to Newmarket location. But food is good. Pies are quite big and good quality meaty filling. I just peeled back a mince and cheese and steak and cheese from here today because it's Friday and yolo

The food is always delicious and they have a great range of options that cater all to all different tastes. Every time I go there for lunch the man who serves me is friendly helpful and very polite. On multiple occasions he has gone above and beyond for special requests with food orders. They offer great value for money as everything is reasonably priced and good portion sizes. I run a business nearby and this is my go to when I have forgotten to bring lunch and I've never been disappointed.

Working up the road on a construction site. What a find! Most local cafes trick the customer by showcasing their best sandwich and filling is minimal. These guys make sure there’s filling throughout the food, there’s loads of choice and they even remembered my coffee straight away! Every time I’m around, I’ll see you!

I have frequented this fantastic little lunch bar / cafe a lot over the past 18 months. All of their offerings are homemade and delicious, from a wide variety of sandwiches etc to hot food like yummy quiches, through to sweet treats like big cookies and everything in between. Great selection of hot and cold beverages. The lovely family owners prepare the food with love and they genuinely care about people, that much is obvious.
